At the beginning of the season 2019/20 the young mezzo soprano Dimitra Kalaitzi succeeded in the revue 'Hier und jetzt und Himmelblau' at the Dresden State Operetta. She was re-engaged here for the season 2020/21. Since the season 2022/2023 she is a member of the Dresden State Operetta ensemble. She can be seen here as MEG PAGE in ‘Die Lustigen Weiber von Windsor’ or ORLOFSKY in ‘Die Fledermaus’.
Moreover, iIn the season 2023/2024 she is SIEGRUNE in ‘Walküre’ at the Athens National Opera and sings Wagner’s WESENDONCK-Lieder with the Vogtland Philharmonic Orchestra.
In the season 21/22 she returned to the Freiburg Theatre as CENDRILLON. Since the season 18/19 she had already enjoyed great successes here as PRINCE ORLOFSKY, CHAVA in 'Anatevka' and in Menotti's 'The Consul'.
Before, the artist obtained her Master in ‘Lieder performance’ at the Music Conservatory in Hannover with Gudrun Pelker and Jan Phillip Schultze. From 2015-2017 the young Greek could be seen as the THIRD FAIRY in Dvořák's 'Rusalka' at the Innsbruck Theatre, at the Opera House Bonn and at the Aachen Theatre. She was EURIDICE in 'Herr Orpheus geht zur Schule' at the Dortmund Theatre and JUNO in 'The gods must be crazy' (Haendel's Semele) at the Theatre of Krefeld-Mönchengladbach.
While still studying in the season 2014/15 at the Cologne Conservatory for Music and Dance with Brigitte Lindner, Johannes Martin Kränzle and Dalia Schaechter, she was already a member of the young ensemble of the Gelsenkirchen Music Theatre. Here, she could be seen as the THRID BOY in Mozart's 'Die Zauberflöte', as the VOICE FROM ABOVE and the THIRD SERVANT in 'Frau ohne Schatten', as YOUNG ANNA and BIRD in the world premiere of 'Nahod Simon'. In the season 2012/13 she had already made her successful debut at the Aachen Theatre as IXION in Marc Antoine Charpentier's 'La descent d' Orphee aux enfers'. Further roles during her studies were the MOTHER in Humperdink's 'Hänsel & Gretel' and PRASKOWIA in Lehár's 'Die lustige Witwe' at the Zwingenberg Castle Festival . With the Thessaloniki State Orchestra she performed the solo parts for alto voice in Mozart's 'Requiem' and Hugo Wolf's 'Christnacht'.
Dimitra Kalaitzi absolved her first singing studies at the Thessaloniki Conservatory. She also made a Bachelor degree in Anglistics at Aristoteles University Thessaloniki. She won the Special Prize of the 25th National Singing Competition in Thessaloniki and was a scholarship holder of the Yehudi Menuhin Foundation 'Live Music Now' and the Richard Wagner Association Wuppertal. Besides, Dimitra Kalaitzi Meisterkurse followed master classes with Cheryl Studer, Kurt Equiluz, Luana Delvol, Birgit Remmert, Aris Christofellis and Renee Morloc.
Her debut at the Cologne Cathedral as CONSIGLIO in Cavalieri's 'Rappresentatione di Anima e di Corpo' was recorded by the Radio Cologne Köln.
