  BIOGRAPHY  

 

In 2020 the young baritone gave an impressive performance at the Royal Opera Stockholm in the world premiere of KLAUS NOMI, a chamber opera for one person. Before, he portrayed PLUTO in “Orpheus in der Unterwelt” at the Malmö Opera. Here, he also performs SERGEANT ALBERT in the world premiere of ‘Det Gar An’in the season 2021/22.

In summer 2018 he made his German debut as MARULLO in ‘Rigoletto’ at theWernigeröde Castle Festival. In the season 18/19 he was the 2nd STRANGER in ‘Der Vetter aus Dingsda’ at the Detmold Theatre.

In 2013 Richard obtained his Bachelor of Arts at the Stockholm University. Immediately afterwards, he made his master here.

Already during his study he gained experience on Stage. Among others, he was MORALES in “Carmen” at the Royal Opera Stockholm, DELFA in ‘Il Giasone’ and CONTE ROBINSON in ‘Il matrimonio segreto’ at the Drottningholm Castle Theatre, as well as PAPAGENO and MAESTRO SPIENELLOCCIO in ‘Gianni Schicchi’ at the Ulriksdals Court Theatre.
In the Season 14/15 he appeared as LI SI in the contemporary opera ‘Sohn des Himmels’ by Moto Osada at the Vadstena Academy and as ALFIO in ‘Cavalleria Rusticana’ with the Norrköping Symphony Orchestra. Furthermore, the singer has already had guest performances in such opera houses as the Folkoperan, the Opera på Skäret, the Regina Theatre and at the Dalhalla Festival.

Richard works together with conductors like Lionel Bringuier, Mark Tatlow, David Björkman, Brad Cohen, Arnold Östman, Stefan Klingele and Joakim Unander, or directors such as Wilhelm Carlsson, Vincent Boussard, Johanna Garpe, Matthew Wilde, Deda Cristina Colonna, Mira Bartov and Claes Fellbom.

He has been awarded with several prizes among which the Stadsbudskårens Culturaward, ”The New Face” Prize TSO, and scholarships of the Royal Academy of Music and the Drottningholm Court Theater. At the Vadstena Summer Festival 2017 he sang the main role in Andersson’s ‘The Importance of Being Earnest’. In 2018 he performed PRINCE ORLOVSKY in “Die Fledermaus” at the Wermland Opera.

In 2022 he is GUGLIELMO in ‘Cosi fan tutte’ at the Folkoperan in Stockholm.
